The material that goes almost anywhere
Vinyl is the most adaptable material in signage because it takes the shape of whatever it is applied to. Shop windows, interior walls, floors, exhibition stands, vehicle panels, glass partitions and boat hulls are all the same basic process with a different specification behind it.
It is also the quickest way to change a space without building anything. Frosted film turns a glass meeting room private by the afternoon; wall graphics turn a bare office into a branded one without a decorator.
Often paired with vehicle graphics and shopfront signage.
Printed, cut or both
Full-colour print, sharp cut lettering, frosted privacy films and marine-grade vinyl for boat names. Applied bubble-free by our fitters, or supplied pre-masked for self-fitting.
Printed vinyl carries photographs, gradients and anything with detail in it, and we laminate it so the colour holds. Cut vinyl has no background at all — the letter or shape is cut from coloured film and the surface behind shows through, which is what makes window lettering look like it belongs on the glass rather than stuck to it.
Marine-grade vinyl is a different specification again, made for constant water, salt and sun. It is what a boat name needs, and it is not the same film we would put on an office wall.
What to decide before you ask for a quote
Start with the surface: glass, painted wall, textured render, floor or hull. It decides the film, and a film chosen for the wrong surface either fails early or takes the paint with it when it comes off.
Then whether you want it printed or cut, and whether we are fitting it or you are. We can supply pre-masked for self-fitting where that suits — a straightforward window run is well within reach — and we will say plainly when a job is not one to attempt yourself.
Fitting, or fitting it yourself
Our fitters apply bubble-free, which on a large window is a matter of technique and the right conditions rather than luck. We work across Suffolk, East Anglia and London from the workshop in Ipswich.
If you are fitting it yourself, we supply it pre-masked so the lettering stays in position while you apply it. Quotations are free.
Common questions
- Will window vinyl damage the glass or the paint?
- On glass, no. On a painted wall it depends on the paint and how long it has been up, which is why the surface decides the film. Tell us what we are applying to and we will specify accordingly.
- Can I fit it myself?
- Often, yes. We supply pre-masked so the lettering stays in position while you apply it. We will tell you plainly when a job is not one to attempt yourself.
- What is frosted film for?
- Privacy and manifestation. It turns a glass partition or a meeting room opaque without replacing the glass, and it can carry cut shapes or a logo within the frost.
- Do you do boat names?
- Yes, in marine-grade vinyl — a different specification from the film that goes on an office wall, made for constant water, salt and sun.
