When a banner is the right answer
A banner is what you use when the message has a date on it. An opening, a sale, a fixture, a festival stand, a site hoarding while the building work runs. It goes up, it does its job, and it comes down — and it costs a fraction of anything permanent.
It is also the honest answer when a permanent sign is not possible yet: a new unit waiting on a landlord's approval, or a frontage where planning consent is still in progress. A banner keeps you trading and visible in the meantime.

Printing in our own workshop is what makes a short turnaround possible at all — nothing waits on a trade printer's queue. The Mimaki inks we use are Greenguard Gold certified, and we laminate prints to extend their life rather than treating a banner as disposable by default.
The choice between PVC and mesh is about wind. Solid PVC gives the strongest colour and is right on a wall or inside. Mesh is perforated so air passes through it, which is what you want on scaffolding, railings or any exposed run where a solid banner would act as a sail.
What to decide before you ask for a quote
Size, and where it is fixing. Those two together decide whether you want PVC or mesh, and how many eyelets you need along each edge. A banner fixed at the corners only will flap itself to pieces on an exposed wall.
Then whether it is going up once or repeatedly. A banner you will re-hang every year is worth specifying more heavily than one that is coming down after a fortnight. And keep any dates out of the artwork if you want to use it again.

Common questions
- PVC or mesh?
- PVC gives the strongest colour and suits a wall or an interior. Mesh is perforated so wind passes through, which is what you want on scaffolding, railings or any exposed position where a solid banner would act as a sail.
- How many eyelets do I need?
- More than you think on an exposed wall. A banner fixed only at the corners flaps, and flapping is what destroys banners. We space them to the size and the position.
- Can I re-use a banner next year?
- Yes, if you keep dates out of the artwork and specify it for repeated hanging. Tell us it is going up more than once and we will finish it accordingly.
- Do you print in-house?
- Yes, on our own machinery with original Mimaki inks. Nothing waits in a trade printer's queue, which is what makes a short turnaround possible.
